In the...A similar reaction while reading Black Boy. In the first chapter Wright reveals that a curtain is lit aflame and one kitten is hung by the hands of a child. The boys' father says to shut the cat up and 'kill' it. And so the fire and the dead kitten are also past us. We are left with a drive fueled by boredom in an empty house and a sinister delight in resentment. The object of attention becomes hunger itself. Wright is already a big thing in classic literature, but he's dead now. Good to see BBGUN keeping it up.feliz705noreply@blogger.com
